SOLD: Steinway Ebony Satin A3 6’4 ½“ Performance Ready Grand Piano
This Steinway Model A3 was built in 1929 during the Golden Era of piano production, widely regarded as the zenith of manufacturing expertise. The Steinway Alll or Long A, is the largest of the three model A pianos Steinway produced, and at 6’4 ½” is nearly comparable in sound projection and bass as its larger sibling, the 6’10” Model B.
Over the years, many technicians have described the Steinway Alll, along with the Model D Concert grand as having the finest scale design of all Steinway’s grand pianos. The Model Alll was produced from 1914 to 1945, when it was discontinued, reputedly because it was too close a competitor to the model B. With its renowned tonal resonance and projection, it is a highly sought after instrument.
This piano has been expertly restored to as new condition. Original soundboard has long, resonant sustain throughout all registers, and a deep powerful bass that approaches that of semi-concert 7ft grand pianos in a slightly more compact size.
The action is light, and extremely responsive, and features new Steinway action parts and hammers, custom treble and bass strings, along with original ivory keys in exquisite condition. It will make an ideal addition to the home of any discerning pianist and musician, a smaller hall, or recording studio.
